After last year's incredible success, the MSFF is coming again! Bigger and better than ever!
Calling all film lovers and movie buffs, friends and family – the Manhattan Short Film Festival is back at London Business School!
Your Film Club, Tech&Media Club and Wine & SpiritsClub have teamed up to bring the Manhattan Short Film Festival to LBS. On Saturday 26 September, the LBS community will unite with a global audience of over 100,000 people when the Festival screens on campus.
Before the screenings start at 7:30PM, you are invited to a pre-event soiree with drinks and appetisers in the LBS Dining Room from 6pm.
We are delighted to announce an incredible line-up for a Q&A to bring together movies and our Business School in the best way: This years topic is about "The Business of Film" and our speakers are as diverse as this industry:
- Nicola Usborne, film producer http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0882270/
- Vaughan Sivell, actor and producer at Western Edge Pictures http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0803366/
- Julian Hicks, executive producer UPL Media http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2496872
- Anu Hasan, 19 years of experience in the film industry from actor to anchor and entrepreneur https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anu_Hasan
The Festival is the pinnacle of a global short film competition whereby ten short films are selected from 678 entries from 52 countries. These ten films will screen in over 250 cinemas across 6 continents during the week of Sept 25- Oct 4. These short films will not only entertain a global audience but will be judged by that audience as well. Eventually YOU will be the judge and Cinema goers become instant film critics as they are handed a ballot upon entry that allows them to vote for Best Film and Best Actor. Votes are sent through to Manhattan Short HQ and decided on Monday Oct 5.
With finalists from the Festival's 18 year history going on to be nominated and even win the Oscar in the short film category, the Manhattan Short is a wonderful opportunity to see the next generation of feature filmmakers from around the world.
The ten finalists’ films are set in diverse locales and incredienst, ranging from Kosovo to Switzerland to the Highways of the USA, the city of Berlin and animated bears. This years’ line-up is as follows:
Listen (Finland/Denmark) |
Dad's in Mum (France) |
Bear Story (Chile) |
Forever Over (Germany) |
SHOK (Kosovo/UK) |
Grounded (France) |
