Retail & Luxury Goods Kickoff Meeting

Welcome to the 2011-2012 academic year for the Retail & Luxury Goods Club!

This will be an exciting year for the Club, with a roster of strong speakers and events planned on campus and off – for professional enrichment, networking and just fun.

We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker: Ben Elliot, Founding Director of Quintessentially Group, Chairman of the Quintessentially Foundation, Non-Executive Director of YouGov Plc, and contributor to the Financial Times and New York Times.

The Quintessentially story highlights several themes we intend to emphasise over the course of the year: the role of entrepreneurship in luxury, financial investment in luxury and retail businesses, and the strength of “brand Britain” in luxury.  Ben is an entertaining and insightful speaker, and we are convinced that, regardless of your professional focus, you will enjoy and learn a lot from his presentation.

Co-Presidents Peter Lewin and Tristan Vanhegan will also briefly cover the R&LG’s agenda for the year, including our efforts to increase our exposure to the general retail sector, and present the new international luxury exchange being trialled this year.
