Major private equity firms such as Bain, CVC, Advent and Apax have invested in some of the world’s most recognisable luxury and fashion brands: Valentino, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Samsonite, Moncler, and Pandora.

Some of these investments have been spectacular successes. Others have led to spectacular failures.

The London Business School Retail & Luxury Goods Club are pleased to welcome Marcello Bottoli, Operating Partner at Advent International, Interim CEO at Pandora, and former CEO of both Louis Vuitton Malletier and Samsonite. Marcello will share his insights via a presentation addressing the following questions:

What makes a luxury company attractive to private equity?
What makes private equity attractive to a luxury owner and manager?
What differentiates successful luxury investments from failures?

Q&A and reception to follow.
