The Kite Runner

Greetings Film Fans and LBS Community! Next Tuesday (November 24th) we are delighted to partner with the Asia Club to bring The Kite Runner to you. The Kite Runner is based on the much-loved novel of the same name by Khaled Hosseini, and tells a story of Amir, a well-to-do boy who is tormented by the guilt of abandoning his friend Hassan, the son of his father's Hazara servant. The film has touched thousands of lives and superimposes human faces and a historical context on the tragic images of war from Afghanistan.  As usual, pizzas will be provided to get you ready for the movie.

Synopsis: Spanning from the final days of Afghanistan's monarchy to the atrocities of the Taliban reign, an epic tale of fathers and sons, of friendship and betrayal, an unlikely friendship develops between Amir, the son of a wealthy Afghan businessman, and Hassan, a servant to Amir and his father. During a kite-flying tournament, an unspeakable event changes the nature of their relationship forever. As an adult haunted by the childhood betrayal, Amir seeks redemption by returning to his war-torn native land to make peace with himself and reconcile his cowardice.

Where? Food will be served at the E-Lounge (2nd floor E-Wing) and the movie screened at the Transmed LT (1st floor E-Wing)
