Australia Day & Waitangi Day Celebrations!!

The ANZ Club is proud to announce one of its most significant events for the year, and is inviting everyone to come down under for a night of celebrations!

This year, the ANZ Club will be combining two significant historical events for its Australian and New Zealand constituents. Australia Day (“Straya Day aye”) represents the day of arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships to colonise Australia. Waitangi Day (“Why-tongue-ee Dai bru”) represents the day of signing the Treaty of Waitangi, which made New Zealand part of the British Empire and gave the native Maori people the rights of British subjects.

What to expect:

• Aussie/NZ Summer weather (that’s right,  we’re turning up the heat to accommodate those thongs/jandals/flip-flops, boardies, and singlets!)
• Beers - we will not run-out, because that would be unaustralian
• Aussie wine – proudly brought to you by our good friends at the Wine & Cheese Club
• Food - We’ll be throwin’ a few snaggers on the Barbie
• Classic ANZ lunchbox snacks - Tim Tams, Caramello Koalas, Pineapple Lumps and Shapes.
• Mechanical surfboard!
• Two Up contest!
• Aussie Rules Football competition, so you can show us your handballing skills!
• Aussie and kiwi slang competition!
• Amazing tunes being pumped out from Triple J's Hottest 100.
