In collaboration with People Strategy Society, we host our first guest in the 'Leaders Teaching Leaders' Speaker Series, Alex Snelling, the Senior Director of Talent International Lead Markets and High Growth Markets at McDonald's. He will talk about his rich and exciting career journey through Human Resources management at companies like L'Oreal, The Body Shop, Cath Kidston and now at McDonald's!

He is currently leading Talent across 12 of McDonald's most important international markets.



Previously Human Resources Director for entrepreneurial retailer Cath Kidston Ltd reporting to the CEO as part of the Operating Board, he was responsible for the people agenda across offices in the United Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong & Shanghai and over 1,000 retail colleagues. Lead a team of 12, making Cath Kidston a great place to work which brightens up your day. Since joining in October 2014, worked together with line managers to improve benefits by introducing new private medical care, driving better recruitment, effectively rewarding retail colleagues, relaunching learning offer and making a number of key senior hires to drive the business. Had driven forward the company's values and EVP to transform the culture of Cath Kidston.



Prior to joining Cath Kidston he worked for the L’Oreal group for over 15 years, most recently as UK & EMEA Human Resources Director for The Body Shop. Leading a team across the UK, France, German, Spain, Sweden & the Netherlands, He delivered key improvements in the calibre of retail colleagues to support the relaunch of The Body Shop stores alongside a major restructuring project and close partnering and coaching with senior teams. He also delivered The Body Shop’s first employee engagement survey.



Before joining The Body Shop he held recruitment, talent and learning roles within the L’Oreal group based in both London and Paris. he developed good business French and worked with teams internationally on the design and delivery of training & learning, direct recruitment and sourcing, international recruitment & campus management.
