Health & Safety impacts everything we do at the School, from the premises and equipment we use (e.g. fire safety) to the way we work and study (e.g. using computers). Everyone whether staff, faculty, students, or visitors, has a role in ensuring that the School remains a safe working environment.
To assist the School in meeting it's health and safety responsibilities, the Health, Safety & Environment Committee advises the governing body on questions of the general safety policy.
Our Health & Safety Policy sets out the School's aims and objectives with regard to safety, and outlines the role & responsibilities of individuals at all levels.

Accident reporting
All accidents, incidents relating to health, security or unsafe situations as well as work-related ill health, regardless of location, must be recorded on the School's Accident & Incident Report Form as set out in the School's Accident and Reporting Procedure.
All accidents/incidents will be investigated initially by the appropriate Manager and the Governance Manager, with the assistance of the Health and Consultant (if required.) The appropriate Manager will complete the Accident and Incident Investigation Report Form where required and return to qpadgett@london.edu, even if Security have already made a report.
For bulk or bespoke orders please contact our account manager at Allwag promotions jackie.jamieson@allwag.co.uk who will be happy to help.
Display Screen Equipment (DSE)
Setting up your workstation and display screen equipment (DSE) correctly is essential for your comfort at work and for your long-term health. This applies whether you use the same desk each day or switch workspaces frequently, and whether you are on campus or working from home.
The School uses an online DSE Assessment training and assessment system in line with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992. New joiners will automatically be enrolled in this online course, but if you would like a refresher please contact healthandsafety@london.edu.
If a more detailed assessment with a Health and Safety Consultant is considered necessary this will be arranged and, as a result, specialist equipment may be recommended and/or the work environment may be altered.
First Aid
The First Aid at Work Regulations place a duty on the School to make provision for first aid by ensuring there is adequate and appropriate equipment and facilities and sufficient numbers of competent staff to provide first aid to employees (and non-employees) who become injured or ill at work.
If you or someone around you requires first aid, please contact Security by visiting the Plowden security desk (if in your vicinity), or by calling 0207 000 7999. We also have a group of volunteers across campus who have also received first aid training and can be recognised by their green lanyards.
We have four defibrillators strategically located across our London campus in Plowden, Sammy Ofer Centre, North Building Receptions and Ratcliffe third floor corridor (opposite Room R325.) No training is required to use an AED. Once turned on the defibrillator will give you clear, step-by-step voice instructions on how to proceed.
