During this Trek, we will visit a broad spectrum of companies within the Automotive industry to gain an insight into how they are adapting to and taking advantage of the rapidly evolving mobility sector. Some of the companies we will visit include Daimler (Lab1886), Porsche (Factory/Museum visit), Pininfarina (EV sport car), Lilium (Air taxi) and more!

This Trek will provide students that are enthusiastic about the future of mobility with an opportunity to explore different perspectives of this ecosystem and to make valuable connections within Germany's buzzing mobility space.
 
When: Trek starts on 23rd Jan (Thu) morning at Stuttgart and ends 25th Jan (Sat) at Munich.
*Trekkers are expected to arrive at Stuttgart on 22nd Jan (Wed). Hotel at Stuttgart is booked by our club*

Where: Stuttgart and Munich in Germany

Ticket price : 339 GBP

What is included in your ticket:
  • Accommodation - one night in Stuttgart and two nights in Munich
  • Transportation - Train/subway in both cities and intercity (Stuttgart to Munich)
  • Food - Breakfast (x3), dinner (x1) (Lunch is not included as we will only have quick lunch breaks inbetween company presentations) 
  • Entrance and English guide fee of Porsche museum
  • Entrance and English guide fee of Porsche factory (Porsche 911) 
  • All cost of company visit / presentation - All cost covered


Highlights of this trek are:

  • Lilium: Lilium has become one of the biggest players in urban air travel to revolutionize the way we travel. They rarely allow company presentations due to confidentiality but allowed us as one of the few universities to host an event together.
  • Daimler: Daimler is leading in CASE (connectivity, autonomous, shared mobility, electrification)and we will visit the Lab1886 - their innovation think & act tank. Their project portfolio include Exoknox, Mercedes Me Experience, Volocopter, and more. This trek also gives you the opportunity to initiate a long-term university collaboration with them alongside other Harvard, MIT, LSE, and UCL students.
  • Porsche: You will see the actual production of Porsche 911running in the factory and understand the glorious history of the brand in an English guided tour exclusively arranged for LBS students.
  • Pininfarina: You will visit the fabled Italian design firm that initiated luxury electric vehicle sport-cars and shapes the future through design, transforming organisations, and helping businesses across different industries from automotive to architecture, from smart products to retail.
  • Stuttgart & Munich:Visit the biggest cities of South Germany and taste local food and beverages with mobility lovers! You will also have the opportunity to arrange the Football Match Bayern München vs. Schalke 04 at the Allianz Arena on 25thJanuary 2020 with other trekkers (not included in trek price).
