The Healthcare Club, Out in Business and the Film Club would like to invite you to an on-campus screening of Dallas Buyers Club, winner of 3 Academy Awards including Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. This seminal movie portrays the dire situation facing patients diagnosed with AIDS in the 1980s and the role that pharmaceutical companies and government regulation played in the early years of the epidemic.

Plot: Dallas Buyers Club is based on the true story of Texas cowboy Ron Woodroof, who in 1985 was diagnosed as HIV-positive and given 30 days to live. With little access to government-approved effective medicines, the entrepreneurial Woodroof joined forces with an unlikely band of renegades and outcasts and established a hugely successful business - the "buyers' club” - which tracked down alternative treatments from all over the world by means both legal and illegal.

Director: Jean-Marc Vallée
Writers: Craig Borten, Melisa Wallack
Stars: Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, Jared Leto

Runtime 118 min.
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 91%
