Join us on a trip to the beautiful Engadin valley in Switzerland to:

  • Challenge yourself and successfully finish the 42.5km marathon course on cross-country skis
  • Represent LBS at the biggest cross-country skiing event in the Alps with more than 11,000 participants
  • Enjoy the beautiful scenery

Key details:

  • Date: March 6, 2015 to March 9, 2015
  • Arrival: Individual travel to Zurich Airport on Friday afternoon. We will meet at 4 pm to travel together to Klosters, Switzerland.
  • Accommodation: 3 nights at the Youth Hostel in Klosters
  • 2h cross-country skiing training on Saturday, March 7, 2015
  • Show down on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Cross-Country Ski Marathon in St. Moritz
  • Departure from Klosters on Monday, March 9, 2015 in the morning to Zurich Airport
  • Trek is open to students from all programs (faculty and alumni are also welcome to join!)

Included in the price (GBP 350):

  • Travel from Zurich Airport to Klosters and back by train
  • 3 nights at the Youth Hostel in Klosters (breakfast included)
  • 2h cross-country skiing training session on Saturday
  • Transfer from Klosters the Marathon and back on Sunday
  • Entry fee for participation in the Marathon (incl. t-shirt and customized LBS starting number)

Not included in the price, but to be considered:

  • Flights from London to Zurich
  • Food and beverage (dinners will, however, be organized)
  • Ski rental (can, however, be arranged on site)
  • Cross-country skiing/sports wear in general

As it is still a marathon and not a walk in the (Regent’s) park, good health condition is mandatory. Further, decent physical fitness and some experience in cross-country skiing is recommended. However, weekly running sessions for preparation are planned starting at the beginning of term 2.

If you are not sure whether you can do the full 42.5km, don’t worry! It is also possible to stop after 21km in which case you just participate in the half-marathon. Still something to be proud of!

Please check the official website for further information on the Marathon:

Furthermore, do not hesitate to contact us (Philippine Bossy, pbossy.mba2016@london.edu, and Christoph Leu, cleu.mba2016@london.edu) for further information.

Best regards,
