Fireside Chat with Mr Idan Ofer

The Israel Club is delighted to invite you to an exclusive Fireside Chat with Mr Idan Ofer on Thursday, 26 April at 6:00 pm. The event will be followed by an open Q&A session and a networking reception with refreshments.

This intimate conversation will be moderated by our Dean, Mr François Ortalo-Magné, to share Mr Ofer’s career journey, from his London Business School MBA to leading a multibillion-dollar global corporate. it was Mr Ofer’s generous £25m cornerstone donation (the largest donation to a British business school) that enabled LBS to go ahead with the Sammy Ofer Centre, named in honour of his late father.

Short bio:

• Mr Idan Ofer is an international businessman and entrepreneur leading innovative expansion across various industries spanning energy, oil and natural resources, shipping, automotive, and technology.
• Following his mandatory military service in the Israeli Navy, Mr Ofer started his career by expanding the family shipping business, spending 15 years in Hong Kong, Singapore and USA prior to London.
• He is the Principal of Quantum Pacific LLP, an international shipping and drilling group, and formed Tanker Pacific Management Group, the largest private tanking fleet in the world.
• He served as Chairman for a range of shipping and technology corporations and is also a co-founder of the Carbon War Room driving the development of a carbon-neutral economy.
• He served as Chairman of Israel Corporation Ltd and is an Advisory Board member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
• Mr Ofer owns 30% of the leading Spanish football club Atletico Madrid and is a Founding Shareholder and Board Member of the Land Rover Ben Ainslie Racing team competing to win back the America’s Cup for Britain.

We are incredibly grateful Mr Ofer is giving us his time and respect the sensitive nature of his relationship with LBS, therefore we will be capping the number of students attending this event and on 26 April will guarantee the attendance of those who sign up.
