Macro Group - North Asset Management

The Macro Group is pleased to host George Papamarkakis (Co-founder, Managing Partner and CIO) and Sugandh Mittal (Partner, Portfolio Manager and LBS MiF alum) of North Asset Management on Wednesday (June 3rd) at 18.45pm in WLT. They will present their flagship North MaxQ Macro fund and give their views on recent Macro developments. Q&A will follow.

George Papamarkakis
George is a co-founder, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at North. As CIO, George is the lead portfolio manager of the North MaxQ Macro Fund and oversees all investment management activity of the Fund, which has won several industry awards. George has over 20 years of experience and has been published in industry journals and frequently quoted in financial periodicals. He is consulted regularly by policy makers and regulators for his market knowledge. George is a former Managing Director within the Fixed Income Department at Morgan Stanley. Prior to working at Morgan Stanley, George worked at HypoVereinsbank AG (now part of Unicredit), National Westminster and Christiania Bank (now part of Nordea).

Sugandh Mittal
Sugandh is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at North. Sugandh co-manages the North MaxQ Macro Fund focusing on foreign exchange and fixed income in developed markets. Sugandh joined North in 2008 as Director of Research. Prior to joining North, Sugandh worked for JP Morgan from 2006 to 2008 in Quantitative Credit Research and was responsible for research into the full range of credit derivatives and trade idea generation. From 2004 to 2006 Sugandh worked for Deutsche Bank in a similar function. Sugandh has a Master’s degree in Finance from London Business School graduating with a distinction and a Masters in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
