What is the GSVC?
The Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) provides aspiring entrepreneurs with mentoring, exposure, and $50,000 to transform their ideas into scalable and sustainable businesses that will have positive real world impact. Founded at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, the GSVC is the pre-eminent business plan competition for social ventures, focusing on graduates and recent graduates that are active in the social entrepreneurial space. A truly global event, last year we received more than 650 entries from 40+ countries. The GSVC has awarded more than a quarter of a million dollars to emerging social ventures and has introduced early-stage social venture entrepreneurs to the investment community. You can find more information on GSVC London here: www.gsvclondon.com.
Our speaker for the event is Jon Smith, CEO and Co-Founder of Pobble (formerly Lend me your Literacy), an LBS alum, and a past GSVC participant. You will also receive more information on how to structure your business plan, requirements for entry and deadlines for submission.
