As UK Black History month comes to an end, the three main inclusivity clubs at LBS - Black in Business, Out in Business and Women in Business, with the help of the Portugal club - are putting together a joint panel to discuss inclusivity in the workplace, and namely understand the role and importance of affiliation groups.
 
Our panelists represent and support their respective communities in the workplace, the way our clubs do within LBS:

Ayo is a Private Wealth Advisor in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs, covering ultra-high net worth clients across EMEA. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he worked for several years at Thomson Reuters as a specialist, servicing large financial institutions and leading strategic sales initiatives across Northern Europe. 



He completed his MBA at London Business school in 2018. He previously graduated from Queen Mary, Uni. of London, with a honours degree in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics and was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2017.

Inês Santos Silva is the Managing Partner at Aliados Consulting, an innovation consulting firm where we empower people and organisations to move towards a sustainable future.



On the side, Inês is also a Co-founder and Chief Activist at Portuguese Women in Tech, a community focus on attracting more women to tech and on supporting those that are already working in technology. 



Since 2010, Inês has been one of the most active drivers of the Portuguese startup scene. After co-founding Startup Pirates, a one-week pre-acceleration program for aspiring entrepreneurs (presence in 40 cities around the world), PortugalStartups.com, a news portal about the Portuguese startup scene (sold to ESPACIO Media Incubator) and many other startup programs, Inês worked as a Special Adviser at the Cabinet of the Portuguese Secretary of State of Industry where she worked on startup public policy.



Inês is an alumna of the Singularity University Graduate Studies Program and of THNK, School of Creative Leadership and a Marshall Memorial Fellow, by the German Marshall Fund. Inês is also a founding member of the Global Shapers Lisbon Hub from the World Economic Forum.

Hoda A.Alkhzaimi is currently the Director of Center of Cyber Security in New York University AD and a research assistant professor in New York University. She served in different posts for research and development in the Technology development sector for the past years, She also played a specific role in developing Cyber Security and Cryptology research and development ecosystems. She headed the Department of Research and Development for Cyber Security and Cryptology in different national initiatives in the United Arab Emirates along with her associations to different security initiatives nationally and internationally. She consults for special projects with national and international technology development initiatives.



Alkhzaimi has a specific expertise in cryptology; cryptanalysis, constructing and validating security hardware and software components, constructing trusted security architectures for different environments in different products for the respective industries. Hoda. Alkhzaimi obtained her PhD in Cryptanalysis from Denmark Technical University. Her current research interests include Space, Aerospace, and UAV and autonomous systems security, constructing and analyzing cryptographic primitives, validating and investigating links between different cryptanalytic approaches and utilizing cryptographic primitives in different cybersecurity architectures as in Internet of Things and big data analysis among others. Her research includes analysis of the effect of machine learning techniques on improving security analytics.



Hoda is the president of Emirates Digital Association for Women a non-for-profit organization endorsed by the ministry of social affairs in the UAE that supports national and international initiatives that aims to empower economic and educational development for diverse communities with specific focus on women and children. This includes, yet not limited to, establishing, and creating ecosystems that support sustainable business development in the UAE and the international scene which supports indigenous growth of local economies. She is as well the strategic director for Women In Artificial Intelligence research international community that aims to improve the scientific and professional positioning of women’s contributions within the field especially in the MENA region. She is the lead of Women In Engineering Chapter in Abu Dhabi and the UAE lead for INWES MENA which is the global network for organizations of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. She is a currently focusing on building sustainable economic ecosystems and investments for valuable technological and industrial impacts.

Marion is a Vice President working as a Senior Credit Analyst at State Street. She also acts as Co-Chair of the State Street’s UK Pride Network and Co-Chair of the Inclusion committee within Interbank, the network of LGBT networks for financial services firms in London.



Marion has appeared on a number of panels with a view to educate around the specific issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community and the issues faced by the women within this community in particular. She’s organised a number of events around topics affecting LGBTQ+ women such as the double-glass ceiling and the lack of representation and visibility of LGBTQ+ women in the workplace and beyond. Within Interbank, where she was the second only female Co-Chair, she’s set up a sub-committee dedicated to diversity focused initiatives, organising a number of events with the goal to empower women and enable them to network in the same way men do.



In recognition of her work, Marion was named in the top 50 LGBT+ Future Leaders list presented by the Financial Times in 2017 and, in 2019, she was nominated in the top 10 LGBT+ Future Leaders category at the British LGBT Awards. She was also featured in the #ThisIsMe campaign launched by DIVA Magazine to mark the first ever Lesbian Visibility Week held in April 2020 and she is being nominated in the 2020 Women in Finance Awards in the Ambassador of the Year category. Finally, in September 2020, she was listed on the INvolve 2020 HERoes Women Role Model list, supported by Yahoo Finance.

Markus Schoefert is an Associate Partner at Bain & Company in the London office, but has also spent time in the Toronto and Bogota offices. He joined Bain in 2013 and has more than 8 years experience in management consulting.



Markus concentrates most of his time in the Retail and Telco sectors, but has worked with top management of large national and multinational groups in several industries such as private equity funds, energy and natural resources, financial services, retail, telecommunications and industrial goods firms across UK and continental Europe, Canada, the USA, and Central and South America.



Prior to Bain, Markus worked in Corporate Strategy in a multinational company in the food sector, as well with another consulting firm based in Italy. Markus graduated in Commerce from McGill University (Canada), and holds a MBA from Columbia Business School (NY). In his free time, he’s passionate about spending time outdoors (particularly when combined with skiing or sailing), having good meals, and exploring what London has to offer.
