Details

Join Amazon, Google, Facebook/Instagram, and Uber for a candid panel discussion on Diversity and Inclusion within their organisations. Members of each organisation will share their own experience and give advice to students looking to break into the Tech space.

The session will include a moderated panel session and audience Q&A, followed by individual breakout rooms for each organisation to give students the chance to network in a more intimate setting with each company.

LGBTQ+ students and allies are welcome, and the meeting will not be recorded so sign up!

Allie is the Co-Founder and COO of SimplyWise, an NYC-based FinTech app. She previously founded and ran Sherpa, a British luggage delivery platform that was acquired in 2019.



A graduate of Columbia University and an LBS MBA2019, she also sits on the board of the school's EUROUT conference, and serves on the Digital Corps leadership committee of Out in Tech, a global LGBT organization for people in the tech industry.



During her time at LBS, Allie was President of the Out in Business club, Chair of the EurOUT Conference, and Co-Chair of the LatAm Business Forum.

Kevin is a member of Facebook's Pride network and leads analytics and benchmarking for the LiveMaps research group at Facebook Reality Labs Research, where they investigate, incubate and productize future-defining 3D mapping technology for ARVR applications.

He has previous experience in software engineering, data science and product management at Redfin (real estate tech), Pixar (animation), PitchBook (vc research), and Arcadia.io (health tech).

Kevin is especially interested in city-scaled problems, visual experiences, emerging technologies, and health systems. Kevin received his masters from Stanford and Cambridge and undergraduate from Penn, where his coursework and research spanned across international development, urban design, applied statistics, and systems modeling.

Day job: Franco-Irish, grew up in South of France and Northern Ireland, currently based in Dublin. Julien (he/him) has been at Google for over 5 years and is currently a Program Manager in charge of the recruitment of Business Interns for Southern Europe and Middle East. The primary purpose of his team is to build a strong and diverse talent pipeline of students leading to full time roles at Google.

Gay job: Julien co-leads Gogole's EMEA Pride operations and sits on the regional LGBTQ+ employee resource group, where their main mission is a Google EMEA that hires, develops and includes LGBTQ+ Googlers like all others so they can bring their best self to work, and that empowers EMEA LGBTQ+ communities through targeted outreach.

Outside of work, Julien is an Ashtanga and Nidra yoga teacher and terribly misses travelling to hug his friends and colleagues.

Beñat Idoyaga is originally from Bilbao (northern Spain). He has been at Uber Eats for 2.5 years, where he has been leading North London, the largest UKI Territory for Uber Eats, taking care of all strategy and operations for their customers: restaurants, couriers, and eaters. Prior to Uber, Beñat briefly worked for the center-right People's Party in Spain, had a short sting at a retail tech start up, and was a consultant for 4 years at A.T. Kearney. Beñat holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School (France / Singapore) and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University (USA).

Beñat has always been an active member and / or leader in the LGBTQI+ networks of the companies he has worked in. Although there has been great progress in the workplace for LGBTQI+ employees; being able to be himself at work, every day, is a privilege (and responsibility) he does not take lightly, and he is committed to making sure he can continue to support LGBQI+ advancement however and wherever he can.

Outside of work, Beñat enjoys travelling (yes, your usual cliché), is a member of multiple museums (Prado and National Gallery), massively enjoys cooking, and unsuccessfully tries to keep a reasonable workout schedule.
