**Purpose-Driven Strategy and Execution**
We will explore how a sustainable strategy is formed at the board level and what comprises the more granular journey to execute it. What are the tradeoffs? Who leads triple bottom line work? How do you pivot strategy to meet the market without losing this focus? Students will get insight into the specific challenges, tensions and scope drift they might encounter in future work with social enterprises.
The talk will be delivered by Alastair Colin-Jones, a senior consultant and researcher at Economics of Mutuality – a thought movement designing solutions that create a 'win-win-win' for all stakeholders in a corporate value chain. He is responsible for supporting the management of a multi-year, multi-disciplinary research programme with Oxford University that aims to develop a new management theory whereby the principle of Mutuality ('reciprocity') drives superior business performance across various forms of capital (social, human, natural, and shared financial capital). Alastair has worked on value chain turnarounds at Mars, which he will take us through in his session.
