Social Impact Crash Course brings a series of 5 'upskilling' sessions designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, consultants and investors who want to better understand the unique practical and theoretical drivers of socially oriented firms (large/ early stage, for-profit/ not-for-profit). We have carefully curated guest speakers to reflect the best and most interesting facets of the session topics.

Sessions will cover: leadership of triple bottom line, measuring social impact, business structures (financial and legal) people management and a panel of LBS students who are former/ current social entrepreneurs.

**Impact Measurement Frameworks**

We will be exposed to a variety of 'impact measurement' approaches, learn how to use diverse frameworks and critically evaluate their contextual suitability (given the lack of universally agreed standards). The session will close with a Q&A with the two leading and very different practitioner organisations.

The first part of this talk / workshop will be delivered by B-Lab UK's Executive Director, Chris Turner.

The second part will be delivered by Impact Management Project's Performance Lead, Spencer Powell and Impact Data Lead, James Hicks.

Impact Management Project is a non-profit organisation working on building a global consensus for how we talk about, measure and manage social and environmental impact. James works with investors who are interested to learn about, and apply, the IMP norms to their investment processes. He also leads workstreams on digitisation of impact data and policy engagement. Spencer oversees the performance workstream for the Impact Management Project. This involves building consensus on the measurement of positive and negative impacts that matter most to people and planet, and formulating the ideal disclosures for said impacts that are globally comparable.
