Details
Reebok is one of world’s most-famous shoe brands that has been around for a long time – and for a reason. Following his family heritage back to 1895, Joe Foster’s Grandfather, Joseph W Foster, pioneered the spiked running shoe and famously made shoes for the world’s best athletes. After returning from two years away from home on National Service, Joe Foster and his brother noted that their family business wouldn’t be able to grow in the state that it was in—still making shoes using designs from the 1930s. Joe and Jeff started Reebok together from the very bottom, with no money. From creating sports shoes in a windowless, small three-story building, Joe tells his fascinating story of how he and his team took Reebok to become a $4billion company, from creating the Reebok brand, disrupting the industry and selling the company.
Learn how Reebok first started, what valuable life and business lessons Joe learned from his entrepreneurial journey, and how he made his way to the very top with hard work and determination. Joe will also share the need for passion and perseverance when it comes to Entrepreneurship, and the toll it can take on your family and personal life. Joe also believes that whilst hard work and determination will eventually get you results, luck can come in all forms which can help you along the way. This is a life story you don’t want to miss.
Joe Foster will be in conversation with Jeff Skinner, Executive Director of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Private Capital. There will be an opportunity for questions and also a chance to network with the speaker and guests over drinks and nibbles following the talk.
