About The Event
2020 was a gruesome year and many of us impatiently waited for its end. However, what will COVID-19 bring this year? Will 2021 be a year of renewal and opportunity or should we brace for impact? The Turnaround Management Association UK and the London Business School Turnaround & Restructuring Club are honoured to invite you to join the discussion on what businesses will look like very soon and in the long-term.
Together with a panel of amazing speakers, we will look at distress from a number of perspectives. How can professional turnaround managers really help businesses in such bizarre situations as COVID-19 pandemic? Can the pandemic fundamentally change traditional way firms are financed? Which entrepreneurial and career opportunities could be there for people, interested in working in the distressed sphere?

Rada brings 15 years of corporate finance, debt origination and restructuring experience across various industries in EMEA, including FI, power & energy, transportation & logistics, industrials and consumer & retail. Rada is responsible for coverage of multi-stakeholder cross-border restructurings across EMEA and has been involved in a leading capacity on the region’s most complex situations involving negotiations with multiple stakeholders. Prior to joining KPMG in 2019, she worked for the investment bank at Citi, and the restructuring teams at Houlihan Lokey and RBS. Rada holds an MBA degree from INSEAD.

Ivelina has 15+ years of experience in operations improvement in the UK, Germany and Eastern Europe within both blue-chip global organisations and local market start-ups. She has an excellent C-suite track record of delivering complex business transformations, managing debt workouts, and leading teams to deliver growth. Before joining AUTO1 FinTech, she was a Senior Turnaround and Restructuring Director at Hypo Group Alpe Adria in Bulgaria, as well as held executive roles at BNP Paribas in Germany and in the UK, focusing on credit structuring and alternative lending for SMEs. Ivelina holds a Masters in Finance (MiF) degree from London Business School.

Karthik Dasari is the Founder and Managing Director at Tern Capital. He is a hands-on operational investor in niche technology, special situations and corporate carve-outs and actively leads all new investments at Tern Capital and takes an active role in all of its portfolio companies. His team has invested in six companies to date and exited four of these investments with gross returns of 7.8x. Karthik has 15+ years of experience in transforming businesses and principally investing in under-managed or distressed businesses; he was also an interim CEO for three out of the six investments during their respective turnaround phases. Prior to this, Karthik spent over 10 years with Bain & Company and General Electric helping businesses grow and drive operational efficiencies. Karthik holds an MBA from INSEAD.
