Details

Dominic Liechti is currently the Executive Director and President of the Khan Lab School which originated from Khan Academy in Mountain View, California. Prior to his appointment as the Managing Director of the German American International School (GAIS), Menlo Park, California, he served as founder and Director of the International Middle School at GAIS and led the entire IB accreditation processes. In addition, he had the role as the principal of an inner-city junior high school in Zurich, Switzerland and has been working for several years as a homeroom teacher for grades 7 through 9 in a junior high school.

For over six years prior to his headship, Dominic dedicated his career to personalized and project-based learning in the classroom: he taught innovative courses in Technology, Science, Math, Design, Physical Education, French, and German.

Outside of KLS, Dominic serves as the President and Chairman of the Board at Learn4life, a Swiss nonprofit organization he founded in 2004. Learn4life is committed to affordable education and has served over 2,000 economically disadvantaged students to date.
