Exploring "The Double Tax": Book Talk and Q&A with Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman
Details
Women in Business and Black in Business are delighted to host Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman (Harvard Kennedy School) at London Business School as part of her London book tour for her latest work, The Double Tax: How Women (of Color) are Overcharged and Underpaid.
The Double Tax examines the financial and personal costs women face as they navigate life’s biggest milestones, with a particular focus on how these costs vary across racial lines. To put it simply, the book shows how expensive it is to be a woman in America and beyond. The data reveals not only that women pay more than men, but also that minority women and white women experience very different realities, with significant gaps in careers, motherhood, retirement, and other key stages of life.
Join us for this important and inspiring session, where Anna will present insights from her book, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. This is a unique opportunity to engage with a leading voice on equity, economics, and justice, and to reflect on how we can collectively challenge structural barriers for women in the workplace and beyond.
