You know the moment: you’re presenting to a packed room when suddenly someone poses a question that you’re utterly unprepared to answer. What can you do? How might you turn this into an opportunity?

The Acting & Creative Communications Club is here to help. In January and February, we’re bringing Hoopla Improv, London’s veterans in improv coaching for business leaders, to teach a 4-day Improv Course at LBS.

NOTE: this is not a drama class! This is not a comedy class! You need no experience. You need no jokes. You won't be pushed onto a stage. You just need enthusiasm. Lead instructor Max Dickins will create a warm and fun environment for you to practice skills that can give you the improv edge. For more on their work please see www.hooplabusiness.com

Registration is strictly limited -- and we recommend signing up now; in May 2016, our Club’s introductory improv class sold out in 1 hour!

The course will span 4 weeks. Classes will be 6:45 to 9:15pm on consecutive Wednesdays:

Session 1, January 18 -- Intro to Improv Concepts

This is an introduction to all the basics of improvisation from 'listening with intent' to the philosophy of 'yes, and'. This week sets the scene and context for the more applied work in the subsequent weeks.

Session 2, January 25 -- Creativity and Innovation

We apply improvisation skills and concepts to ideation: how can improv help you come up with lots of ideas quickly?

Session 3, February 1 -- Sales and Pitching

We apply improvisation skills and concepts to the sales process: how can you use your audience to help you persuade? How can you use the power of a 'hero's journey' story structure to persuade?

Session 4, February 8 -- Story telling

This is an in depth session on storytelling.
