The China Club and Career Centre are pleased to open applications to join the Hong Kong Asset Management Trek, which will take place during the reading week, 23rd - 26th October (TENTATIVE).
If you want to pursue an asset management career in Asia, don’t miss out on this trek! We will visit major leading asset management companies in Hong Kong, as the trek aims to give students exposure to this industry and provide an opportunity to listen to and interact with asset management professionals. There will also be a joint alumni drinks event during the week. While the trek is educational rather than recruitment oriented, in previous years some trek participants were invited for interviews by the hosting companies after the trek.
The trek is open to first and second year MBA and MIF students and early career programme G/MiM and MFA students. We encourage everyone who has a serious interest in the asset management industry to join our trek!
About the Trek
The Hong Kong Asset Management Trek is one of the most established Asia career treks at LBS. Each year, we organize company visits to leading asset management firms in HK. The companies we visited in the past include Fidelity International, Fidelity Management and Research (FMR), Manulife, T. Rowe Price, etc. This year, HSBC
Global Asset Management, a leading asset management company operating under a bank, has also agreed to host us. Detailed schedules will be sent out once we finalize the list of participants early next month.
Application Process
We will select around 15 candidates for this trek. If you would like to apply for the trek, please prepare a CV and a short essay (300 words max) explaining why Asset Management and why Hong Kong in particular fits into your career aspirations. Convert your CV and essay in a single PDF document and send it to Elva Lu (elu.mba2020@london.edu), Yijue Lin (ylin.mifft2019@london.edu) and Jiaze Li (jli.mfa2019@london.edu), the 2018 HK AM Trek Team.
Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Sunday, Sep. 23rd
We encourage all students who are interested in Asia Asset Management Industry or who have relevant backgrounds to apply. Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is not mandatory for the trek. A panel comprised of the trek organizers will collectively decide on the selection of attendees. We also encourage you to start to apply for travel documents to HK as soon as possible, if you don’t have one now.
