Dear LBS Cycling Community:

We are excited to announce the 1st Annual LBS Cycling Club London to Paris Cycle Trek. This will be a 3-day, 310km supported ride (we have a volunteer who has kindly offered to drive the support vehicle). This ride is targeted at cyclists of all levels, however please prepare appropriately to ride ~100km a day for 3 consecutive days. The Cycling Club will be organizing weekly indoor spin sessions (Tuesdays, 17:15-18:15) and weekend rides around greater London leading up to the event in order to help all cyclists prepare for the Trek. Look out for future announcements on weekend rides and come train with us!!

Itinerary

Day 1: LBS Campus to Newhaven (104km, 1,161m of elevation)

This first day takes us out of London into the beautiful Surrey countryside. The route will be mainly on secondary roads and rolling hills through beautiful country villages. We end the day over the South Downs National Park and into the town of Newhaven, where we will take the ferry over to Dieppe in France.

Transfer 1: At the end of Day 1 we will take the ferry from Newhaven, UK to Dieppe, France.

Evening 1: We will check into a hotel for an overnight stay in Dieppe and have a hearty group dinner to celebrate the end of the 1st day and replenish some calories!!

Day 2: Dieppe to Chaumont-en-Vexin (115km)
We start bright and early on Day 2 riding away from the Normandy coast towards the Hauts-de-France region. The ride will start along the “Avenue Vert” (smooth cyclepath) and continue in the afternoon along rolling country roads taking you through the heart of French farmlands and country villages.

Evening 2: We will check into a hotel for an overnight stay in the village of Chaumont-en-Vexin and again have a group dinner to prepare for the final push into Paris.

Day 3: Chaumont-en-Vexin to Paris (90km)
The final day to Paris takes us through natural Parks and forests outside of Paris. We start in the greenery of the Vexin Region, then across the Seine river to Versailles (where we will take a group photo in front of the Palace of Versailles). The final 20km push takes us past the famous Parisian cyclists training ground (Hippodrome de Longchamp) before we finally see the Eiffel Tower on the horizon and end this epic Trek at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

Evening 3 (optional): Riders will have the option to either stay the evening in Paris & have dinner & a few well deserved shots with the organizing team OR those who prefer to return to London will be able to take a late afternoon/evening Eurostar train back to London.
