Meet @ Windsor Castle Pub (next to Sussex Place campus)
Registration is now closed (this event already took place).
The Cycling Club are planning a ride on Sunday 17th June down to the Surrey Hills. The ride will consist of 4 big climbs (by UK standards). There is the option to skip two of these and 15km if you think it may be too much.
There are 2 meeting points on the way out (LBS and Wimbledon) and there is also a train station by Box Hill if you would prefer to miss the return 45km and hop on a train back instead.
The group will depart from outside the Sussex Place reception (old campus) on Park Road @ 07:30.
The second meet is outside the main entrance to Wimbledon Station (south London) @ 08:00, which is 17km into the route.
After the 4 climbs we can grab a well-earned coffee and pasty at the top of the famous Box Hill before heading back on the predominantly downhill return.
The route will be quite demanding taking in 125km (90km from Wimbledon) with almost 1,500m of ascent and around 5/6 hours of saddle time at a brisk pace.
Any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I will confirm on the Friday afternoon beforehand with those who register so that we know who to expect at the meet points.
As per usual, helmets are mandatory and a road bike is strongly recommended due to the speed and distance that we will be taking in. Additionally, bring lots of water and some sugary snack to power you up the hills!
Look forward to seeing you all for a fun-filled ride in the sunny South.
