Michael Kollo, Head of Quantitative Research and Risk at Renaissance Asset Managers. Michael joined Renaissance Asset Managers as Head of Quantitative Research in 2012, and is the lead fund manager on the Global Emerging Markets Yield Fund. Before joining Renaissance, he worked for BlackRock where he was a senior researcher in the Risk and Quantitative Group, which oversaw over $400 billion in active equity strategies across Global Equity, Global Emerging Markets and the European/UK businesses. Michael holds a Masters degree with Honors from the University of New South Wales, and a PhD with distinction from the London School of Economics. Michael received a number of awards for excellence in Financial Research from Deutsche Bank, UBS and the Institute of Financial Accountants.
Ralph Sueppel , Executive Member/ Portfolio Manager at Graham Capital Management. Before working at Graham Capital Management, Ralph held the position of managing director at UBS and Chief Economist and Strategist at BlueCrest Capital Management. Ralph holds a Doctorate in Economics and Finance from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn.
Moderator: Ralph Koijen, Professor of Finance at London Business School, where he teaches the very sought after Equity Investment Management elective. Before LBS, Ralph was an Assistant Professor of Finance at University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and Visiting Assistant Professor at NYU Stern School of Business. Prof. Koijen has been widely published and his research recognized. His research interests are in macro-finance, asset pricing, insurance, and household finance, and financial econometrics. Recently, Prof. Koijen Professor has won a sizeable £900,000 grant to conduct a five-year research program on ‘Empirical Macro-Finance and the Financial Economics of Insurance Markets’.
