ALUMNI EVENT: The Changing Energy Landscape
Registration
Details
The Energy Club and the Alumni Advisory Council are pleased to announce an event focused on the LBS Energy Club Alumni, welcoming Ian Cloke, Vice President Exploration at Tullow Oil, and Dr. Dominic Emery, Vice President Long Term Planning and Policy at BP to discuss The Changing Energy Landscape. Our panel has two senior oil and gas executives providing a current and diverse view of the state of play in the oil and gas sector. The panel will be moderated by Anant Prakash, Strategy Advisor at BP and member of the Energy Club Alumni Advisory Council.
The panel will discuss the big issues in oil and gas today:
1. Oil price decline: Post US shale revolution, the oil price collapsed from above $100/barrel to less than half its highs. Is this a game changer for the industry?
2. Climate: The climate debate is heating up amidst growing political support for reduction in emissions. Should the oil industry still think about going into tar sands, ultra-deep-water and Arctic to explore oil and gas? What effect could forthcoming climate regulation have, and how does the oil and gas industry support/ play its part?
3. Shifting demand from OECD to non OECD: Over the next decade, growth in demand shifts from OECD to non OECD countries. How does this affect oil and gas companies?
The session will be held on Tuesday the 31st of March at 7:00pm in LT9. Please join us for what promises to be a very informative and lively discussion. There will be audience Q&A at the end, and networking following the event. We look forward to seeing you there.
The session is strongly focused towards LBS Alumni, however limited tickets are available to students. The event will be followed by networking drinks.
Kind Regards,
The Energy Club
