We live in a world shaped by technologies that are redefining the what, where and how we do things. Digitalisation is having a significant impact and disrupting not only on FMCG companies, but also industries such as Energy.

When looking at the list of technologies that have the potential to truly reshape the world, it is striking that majority of them emerge from the energy sector.

During this joint event with Young Professionals Network we will focus on a number of disruptive technologies, including autonomous vehicles and energy storage, and hear from industry experts that are actively involved in shaping the future of the industry.

Confirmed speakers include:

Jake Leslie Melville (Partner and Managing Director, The Boston Consulting Group)- Partner and Managing Director at BCG and a member of the global Energy leadership team. His focus is on upstream and downstream oil and gas. He also leads global marketing activities for the Energy practice. Jake has deep experience across the oil and gas value chain and has participated in multiple projects in upstream, midstream, and downstream. He has worked extensively across Europe, West Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. Before joining BCG, Jake was a Partner at Booz Allen where he led its oil and gas business in Europe. Before consulting he worked for Dominion Resources, a large US utility. He served as an NED of the Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust. He was also a long term NED of Erica Ltd., a 70MW onshore windfarm development in Scotland. He was elected a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2009. He was also awarded the Badge of Honor by the British Red Cross. He has an MBA from the Wharton School and an MA from the University of Edinburgh.

Adam Chase (Director, E4tech)- Director of E4tech since joining in 2000 and he has played a role in most of the projects, which E4tech has undertaken through its London office. His project work often relates to corporate or national strategy and involves an understanding of how energy systems operate, rather than technologies in isolation. Adam’s particular interest is low carbon innovation in the energy and automotive sectors.

Andy Hadland (Chief Development Officer, Arenko Cleantech)- Chief Development Officer at Arenko Cleantech, a company that owns, builds and operates energy storage assets in the UK. Previously he worked at EnergyExcel (now Amerseco) where he has led industrial and commercial projects; from energy efficiency at M&S through to Owner’s Engineer for a large 85MWth/25MWe Biomass CHP. He is the youngest Member of Council for the Energy Institute, a regular guest lecturer at Imperial College Energy Futures Lab, and a passionate STEM Ambassador. He was part of a record-breaking team that designed and built an all-electric supercar – which then drove 26,000km from Alaska to Argentina.
