The “PE-VC in Energy” series of events offers an exclusive opportunity to get familiar with the fields of Renewable and Digital Energy, Clean Tech and Smart Cities through the eyes of both preeminent investors and promising early stage companies. In each “PE-VC in Energy” event, you will have the opportunity to meet leading professionals from the PE/VC industry, along with representatives from their selected portfolio companies, and to hear first-hand about their experience, businesses, opportunities and challenges.
 
The LBS Energy Club is delighted to host a panel with Eliron Ekstein and Shane Clifford (both LBS Alumi), to speak about new Venture Capitals in Energy & Transport, and Shell’s investing approach.
 
Mr. Eliron Ekstein - FarePilot
Eliron Ekstein is Shell’s Programme Lead in its Digital Businesses department, overseeing the scouting and development of new opportunities to be incubated in-house, via partnerships or direct investments. He is also current COO and Acting CEO of FarePilot, a venture backed by Shell Technology Ventures and BCG Digital Ventures, which provides taxi and ride share drivers with information about demand hotspots for transport, in order to reduce traveled miles and time spent by them.  
Eliron has previously been Project leader for the Group Strategy, Portfolio and Alternative investments in Shell.
 


Mr. Shane Clifford - Wonderbill
Shane Clifford is the current CEO of Wonderbill (a Shell Technology Ventures portfolio company) focused in helping people manage their bills, identifying inefficiencies in these and helping them find better deals. He was previously a principal in the Boston Consulting Group. 
Shane was part of the founding team for the BCG Digital Ventures innovation hub in London. The latter is an Innovation, Product Development, and Commercialization firm.
