Siemens Site Visit

What: A full site visit to Siemens Energy's Lincoln campus (around 2ish hours trip), where we'd get to see firsthand how industrial gas turbines are designed, manufactured, and tested. It's a rare chance to step inside a world-class energy facility and see the engineering up close.​

Transport: There is a direct train to Lincoln from Kings Cross. We are planning to take the 10:47am train, which will get us in at 12:35 and leave on the 16:19 train back to Kings Cross. The club will be subsidizing up to £35 per person for round trip train ticket costs!

About the facility: Lincoln is the largest of Siemens Energy's 14 manufacturing locations in the UK, home to around 1,400 employees. The site includes Ruston Works (gas turbine manufacturing), a dedicated R&D test centre, and a global product training centre. They produce core engines ranging from 5 to 15MW, with over 3,500 units sold across 90+ countries. Their markets span oil and gas, industrial power generation, and gas turbine servicing.​
