Please join us at the first workshop of the E-club skills development series STEP on January 29th, 2020 7:00-9:00pm. The focus of this workshop is on Ideation. The event is designed to be interactive with activities. Participants will be encouraged to use ideation techniques during the workshop facilitated by LBS entrepreneurship faculty Professor Stroube and get guidance on how to generate their own idea.
LBS faculty Bryan Stroube teaches the tailored core course Developing Entrepreneurial Opportunities. His research examines heterogeneous motives in markets, particularly how the tension between profit motives and other pursuits can shape market outcomes. His studies cover profit and non-profit organisations to help inform how managers and entrepreneurs better position their businesses to handle stakeholders with various motives. As part of this research, he spent more than a year as a Fulbright Fellow in China, focusing on lender decisions in online peer-to-peer microfinance.
We are also excited to have LBS alumni joining us to share their experiences:
Taha Dar (MBA2018) is the founder of SearchSmartly. The firm’s unique technology reimagines and simplifies the property matchmaking experience by doing the heavy lifting to uncover the properties that are best suited to each tenant's complete personal needs. SearchSmartly’s mission is to save tenants and estate agents time, stress, and money. SearchSmartly is the winner of the Great British Entrepreneur Challenge and is proud to be part of the London Business School Incubator.
James Chance (MBA2019) is the founder of yourself.online, a service to help individuals manage their online privacy and persona. He developed the idea whilst at LBS and exchange to Austin, Texas, winning $45k in prizes in the process. Prior to LBS he was a consultant at Google where he worked with their largest clients in e-commerce alongside becoming one of their Design Thinking coaches.
