Many people argue that small firms are over-burdened by the weight of business law they must comply with and that many entrepreneurs struggle to keep pace with an ever-changing and growing mountain of legislation. Estimates vary, but some say dealing with ‘red-tape’ takes up an average of two weeks of an entrepreneur’s time during an average year.

As well as generating additional work to ensure compliance, the cost implications of business laws and regulation can be considerable, especially where significant legal changes are introduced.

However, business laws can protect your business too. Although opinions will always differ over what is fair and unjust, few would deny that the law has an important responsibility to protect the health and safety of employees, the public and the environment from the worst excesses of business.

Come to this information-rich session held by Shoosmiths covering all the essential legal issues which should be considered by a start-up or early-stage business. Shoosmiths is a major UK law firm with a network of offices working together as one national team. From Hewlett-Packard to Krispy Kreme and property developers to some of the UK's largest banks, they work with a growing number of the FTSE 250 and some of the world's most exciting and ambitious growth businesses.
