The Hike:
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge is one of the UK's most iconic hiking challenges, taking you through the stunning landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This classic route will see you summit three magnificent peaks in a single day: Pen-y-Ghent (694 m), Whernside (736 m), and Ingleborough (723 m).
We will begin our journey in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, a charming village that serves as the traditional starting point for the challenge. The trek follows a circular route through dramatic limestone landscapes, rolling hills, and rugged moorland, with each peak offering its own unique character and breathtaking views across the Dales.
The Ticket Cost:
£86 per person.

The expedition will take place on 3rd – 5th April 2026. A rough itinerary is as follows:
- Day 1 (April 3 - Travel & Arrival) – Travel to Horton-in-Ribblesdale, walk to 3 Peaks Bunkroom (~15 min), optional dinner at the Golden Lion pub or self-cater at the hostel.
- Day 2 (April 4 - Challenge Day) – Eat breakfast at hostel, 7:00am start from Horton-in-Ribblesdale car park (<10 min walk), complete the 3 Peaks Challenge (12 hours), return to the bunkroom for overnight stay.
- Day 3 (April 5 - Return Travel) – Walk to train station for departure. Breakfast not included.
While no technical climbing or prior hiking experience is required, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge is physically demanding. Participants must be able to hike for 12 straight hours with a day-pack over moderate terrain with steep, loose sections. To enjoy your experience, we recommend having a good level of fitness and completing some training hikes beforehand.
Weather & Safety:
Safety is our priority. The group will be led by experienced team members, and emergency protocols will be in place.
Weather conditions in the Yorkshire Dales can change rapidly, with rain, wind, and limited visibility even in April.
Expected weather: 4°C to 13°C, with a 26% chance of precipitation.
Proper gear is essential—participants must be fully prepared for wet and windy conditions.
Travel Insurance:
It is strongly recommended that all participants have travel insurance covering hiking in mountainous terrain, emergency rescue, and trip cancellations.
