The CEO’s tasks are manifold and can include everything from strategy to corporate finance to political advocacy. In both academia and practice, two interpretations of the CEO’s role have established themselves in recent years: the manager and the ambassador. While the manager is involved in day-to-day business in a hands-on manner, the ambassador focusses on brand building and relationship management.

The Business & Government Club and the India Club are proud to host Dr David Landsman OBE, a former British Ambassador who now heads the $100bn Indian Tata Group in Europe, to evaluate these two models and their usefulness in practice. The event will be held under the Chatham House Rule in an interactive Q&A format chaired by a member of the LBS faculty on Monday, 23 January 2017, at 6.30pm.
