Excel 101 Workshops

Designed in three modules, these workshops combine theory with practice, allowing you to learn by doing as well as listening.  Attend all three modules for the full suite of skills, or just pick the modules that suit you.

Module 1 - Intro to Excel: In this module, we cover tips and tricks for using Excel more effectively and efficiently (including keyboard shortcuts), basic capabilities (including reference locking and formula auditing), and a range of key functions (including combination IF statements, CONCATENATE, and VLOOKUP).

Module 2 - Data Handling: In this module, we cover an introduction to databases, tools used to draw insights from data (including AutoFilter, Pivot Tables, and Data Validation), and ways to effectively communicate and display these insights.

Module 3 - Model Building: In this module, we cover key principles and best practices for building a model in Excel, and work through a three-step model-building process (planning analysis, structuring model, and developing functionality) with an in-class sample case.

Please bring your own computer (preferably a PC, not a Mac) with Excel 2007 or later installed.
