Join us for an inspiring evening dedicated to celebrating identity, innovation, and community at Voices & Ventures: Stories of Identity and Innovation, hosted by Out in Business and Black in Business in partnership with the Student Association.

Event Highlights:

1️⃣ Student Story Hour:
Kick off the night with powerful, authentic stories from your peers. In this special session, LBS students will share five-minute talks, each one offering a unique perspective on identity, inclusion, and equality. It’s an opportunity to connect, listen, and grow in empathy as we learn from each other’s lived experiences.

2️⃣ Breaking Barriers Fireside Chat:
Dive into an enlightening conversation led by our very own Bukky Oyedeji, featuring two trailblazing entrepreneurs making waves within the African diaspora. Hear from Adaora O, Founder & CEO of AMAKA Studio, a platform empowering Pan-African creators, and Jermaine Craig, Founder of Kwanda, a community-driven fund addressing critical issues in Africa. Discover how they’re redefining success, challenging norms, and building connections that transcend borders.

3️⃣ Dinner & Networking:
Wrap up the evening with a chance to mingle, enjoy delicious food and drinks, and engage directly with speakers and fellow classmates.

Through AMAKA, Adaora bridges the gap between diverse creators and leading global brands, such as Nike, YouTube, and The Access Bank, enabling creators to share and monetize their stories with audiences worldwide. Under Adaora's leadership, AMAKA has introduced AMAKA Gigs, a streamlined platform where brands can easily discover, commission, and work with creators across Africa and the diaspora.



With a strong background in creative strategy, Adaora previously held roles at notable companies, including VICE, OkayAfrica, Omnicom's RAPP Worldwide, and the branding agency Aruliden. Her extensive experience spans content creation, business development, and consumer research. Adaora holds a master’s degree in Strategic Communications from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University.

Jermaine Craig is the Founder of Kwanda, a community-driven platform bringing together diasporans to fund sustainable development projects across Africa. Kwanda empowers collective giving by creating a transparent and collaborative approach to philanthropy, where members pool resources to support impactful, locally led initiatives. Each funding decision is community-driven, with financial transactions recorded on an open ledger, ensuring transparency and trust. Since its inception, Kwanda has deployed over £120,000 to initiatives that uplift communities across the continent, from supporting micro-clinics in Nigeria to providing health education and reusable menstrual kits to girls in Ghana.



With a focus on harnessing the power of micro-philanthropy, Jermaine aims to cultivate early-stage philanthropists and create a world where generosity thrives within the African diaspora. Prior to founding Kwanda, Jermaine worked as a Product Designer, leveraging his skills in design and brand development to build impactful, user-centered platforms.
