They invest in high-growth, expansion-stage technology companies, specifically focusing on Enterprise SaaS, Fintech, Healthtech and Devops. Notable investments include: LinkedIn, Fitbit, 23andMe, TransferWise and Trade Republic.

• The firm was founded in 1996 as the venture capital arm of multinational software conglomerate SAP and spun out as an independent company in 2011, rebranding to Sapphire Ventures in 2014. 

• The firm recently committed over $1bn to invest solely in Enterprise AI startups and is currently raising over +$1bn for their 7th fund investing from Series B to IPO. 

• Its core fund invests solely in enterprise software. It has a separate division that invests in early-stage funds as a limited partner, and it launched a distinct fund in 2019 to invest in sports tech.
