Private Equity Case Workshop: First Edition

Dear PE/VC Club Members,

For those of you interested in the career in Private Equity, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Private Equity Case workshop in collaboration with the Career Centre. The workshop is a series event which will take place multiple times in during the Spring 2023 term.

The workshop participants will work in groups of 4 people on a case which was previously used by a Buyout fund when recruiting for a full-timeAssociate role. During the workshop, you will:

📈 Build the model (with the help of the Modelling trainer)
💸 Develop an investment hypothesis and
🙋 Prepare the final presentation for the panel of PE experts

Workshop Format:

Day 1: Case shared and groups assigned

Session 1: Case overview and Investment pitch - 1 hour Zoom

Day 2: Building the model 

Session 2: LBO Modelling workshop with Yuliya Keselman (you will work through the model together) - 1½ hours Zoom

Day 3: Investment pitch development 

Session 3: Q+A with Private Equity professionals about developing your pitch - 1 hour Zoom

Day 4: Investment pitch development 

You will work in your groups and solo to prepare your pitches

Day 5: Presentations

Session 4: Each team will present the Investment in front of Investment committee - the panel of Private Equity professionals - 3 hours in person LT Friday afternoon

The panel experts will offer you feedback - priceless in any interview preparation! 🤩 In addition to that, all presentations will be recorded and shared so you will be able to learn from the other teams' different approaches .

Each workshop's winning team will be awarded a prize 🏆

Workshop logistics:

Each workshop has 16 seats (4 groups of 4) and we expect all participants to make an active contribution. To participate, please register on Campus Groups. Given the high demand for the workshop, we will ask to pay a non-refundable entry fee of £25 to ensure your commitment. This is a not for profit workshop and any profits will be donated to charity. Career Centre is funding the Modelling trainer.

The PE/VC Club will ensure to organize various PE case workshops during the upcoming months to accommodate more applicants.
