Investing in AI startups: Alex Flamant (Notion Capital and London.AI)

Dear PE/VC club members,

We're excited to welcome on May 3rd Alex Flamant to speak to us about investing in early-stage AI ventures and about the trends in the field.

Alex is an Associate at Notion Capital where he focuses on deal origination and evaluation with a focus on machine learning. He is also the co-founder of London.AI, a regular exclusive meetup that brings together the leading artificial intelligence experts.

Prior to joining Notion, Alex joined the IBM Watson Ecosystem in its early days, helping set up their partnership program in London as employee number one for Europe. He served as the Business Development Lead for EMEA where he opened new markets and forged cognitive alliances with early stage tech firms. He began his career as an IT Strategy Consultant at IBM, focusing on banking and mobile payments in emerging markets. Prior to that he learned the difficulties of starting a company the hard way, by watching his second business go down in flames.
