The LBS PE/ VC Club is proud to host a panel discussion around the macro-changes now affecting the VC Industry.

The Star-Studded Panel comprises Saul Klein (Founder, LocalGlobe) and Alex Ferrara (Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners), and will be moderated by Professor Luisa Alemany from LBS.

Don't miss out as the experts talk about the rise of VC outside Silicon Valley, the increasing trend of mega-funds, and the role that micro-VCs play in the ecosystem.

About the Speakers:

Saul Klein: Saul Klein is a serial entrepreneur, operator and investor with over 25 years experience building and exiting companies in the US, Israel and Europe.

He is a Founding Partner at LocalGlobe and Latitude Ventures. Previously, Saul was a General Partner at Index Ventures (2007-2015). In 2012 David Cameron appointed Saul to be the UK's first Technology Business Ambassador to Israel and in 2016 he was awarded an OBE for services to Business.

He currently serves on the UK Government’s Digital Economy Council and is a member of The Council for Science and Technology which advises the Prime Minister on science and technology policy issues across government. Most recently Saul co-founded Platoon (acquired by Apple in 2018), Zinc (co-founded with the LSE), Kano and Seedcamp (seed investors in UIPath and Revolut).

Alex Ferrara: Alex joined Bessemer Venture Partners in 2005. He led Shopify's Series A for BVP in 2010. Today he serves on the boards of Pipedrive, BigID, Dashlane, Kenna Security, Wandera, ManyChat, and Manta among others. He primarily invests in enterprise SaaS, SMB software, and cybersecurity and is particularly focused on European startups. He is an avid cyclist and most mornings you can find him on Zwift.

Luisa Alemany (Moderator): Luisa Alemany is an Associate Professor of Management Practice at London Business School. She was formerly at ESADE Business School and a Visiting Professor at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. She is also a Fellow at St Hugh’s College, Oxford University. Her main areas of interest are Entrepreneurial Finance, Venture Capital, Entrepreneurial Education, Business Angels, and Venture Philanthropy. She holds a MBA from Stanford University and a PhD in Economics and Business from Universidad Complutense (Madrid).
