Searchlight Capital Partners is a $3.9bn AUM investment fund deploying capital across Americas and Europe. We are currently investing from 2 pools of capital:
Private Equity Fund II: $2bn fund raised in December 2015, currently 45% invested. This fund invests in (i) minority/majority positions in public equities or private equity, (ii) convertible debt instruments, and (iii) distressed debt across 3 sectors: TMT, Consumer/Retail and Services.
Special Opportunities Fund: $400m fund raised in November 2016. This pocket of capital seeks to invest primarily in traded debt securities, but we also take positions in private credit (mezz / second lien / PIK primary issuance). This fund has a generalist sector approach.

Prior to joining Searchlight in 2016, Mr. Ramos de Freitas worked at BC Partners in London where he focused on investments in TMT, Consumer, Leisure, Business Services and Financial Services, among others. Previously, he worked at Terra Firma and started his career at Morgan Stanley as a member of the M&A group. Mr. Ramos de Freitas received a BA from Macalester College, and an MBA from London Business School.
