The Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division (“MBD”) invests both the firm's own capital and capital raised from outside investors in corporate equity and debt, real estate equity and debt, growth equity and infrastructure assets world-wide. Consisting of over 900 professionals in 25 offices in 15 countries around the world, our business operates on a global platform and we areas one of the largest managers of private capital globally.
The MBD Real Estate team originates and manages equity investments in a wide range of asset classes, such as commercial and residential real estate, hotels, student housing and non-performing loans across Europe. We also provide mezzanine debt financing for real estate acquisitions and refinancing, as well as high-yield senior loans on transitional assets.
