The Salty Dog Series

We've realized that a lot of people want to sail but have yet to get their feet wet. Racing is fun, but an intimidating way to learn. Cruising treks leave something to be desired for aspiring sportsmen. Some people have specific goals when it comes to sailing.

The LBS Sailing Club is launching a series of events called the Salty Dog Series. These events are designed provide instruction and hands on experience for people keen to learn. We will do some practice maneuvers (syllabus is currently being developped), as well as cover some of the basics of trimming (managing) your sails, navigating, tides, and docking. Participants will be sailing with certified skippers and experienced crew from both the alumni and student chapters.

Snacks will be provided. Signups are on a first come first serve basis. Each person is repsonsible for arranging train travel to the point of departure on their own. The point of departure will be announced Wednesday 20, May.
