Dream of going sailing? Do you worry that you don't know the first thing about sailing? Has this prevented you from going out on the water?

Sailing courses, including theory classes, can cost you hundreds of pounds, which is a lot of money to put down if you don't know whether you will even enjoy it! While we recommend that the best introduction to sailing is actually going sailing, we understand that it is daunting to go out on a boat when you have no clue what it's all about. We have a solution: Sailing Theory 101!

This class, taught by an LBS student, is a taster of what will be offered in our complete Day Skipper Theory course that will begin in January. We will cover the basics of sailing and also what happens in a race, so that you know what to expect when you join the LBS Sailing Team for a regatta. The lesson will be followed by drinks at the Windsor.

About the instructor: Erika Fredriksson (MBA2021) is an accomplished dinghy sailor who sailed for the Swiss national team, on Laser radials and 4.7 as a junior, and then on optimists. She participated in the World Cup series in 2010-2011.
