London Turnaround Management and Restructuring Trek

The Turnaround Management and Restructuring Club is pleased to open applications to join the first London Turnaround Management & Restructuring trek, which will take place on April 10th. If you are interested in pursuing a career in company restructuring, this is the opportunity to visit the place where it all starts, “London’s Insolvency and Winding Up Court”. The trek will be led by Tony Groom, turnaround expert and Partner at K2 Business Partners, with support of a senior insolvency lawyer. The trek is open to all current LBS students.

  1. Trek objectives:

The objective of the trek is educational rather than recruitment oriented. It is to give students exposure to the Insolvency and Winding Up process that leads to company restructure opportunities. The plan is to visit the Insolvency and Wining Up Court during the morning, and then have lunch in a nearby restaurant.

  1. Trek Schedule:

Wednesday, April 10th – 10:30h-15:00h: The court sits from 10:30 to 12:30 and then lunch from 13:00 – 15:00.

Important: The dress code will be business formal.

  1. Application Process:

We will be selecting 10 – 15 students to be part of the trek. If you would like to apply to join the trek, please complete the following form, where you will have to include a CV in the LBS standard format and include a short description (200 words max) explaining why you would like to participate in the London Turnaround Management and Restructuring trek, how it fits in your career, and what you can provide to the trek.

Applicants should be current members of the Turnaround Management and Restructuring Club. A panel comprising the trek leaders and the Club Co-Presidents will decide which applicants join the trek based on certain criteria (e.g. background, motivation, diversity, etc.).

The cost of the trek will be 23GBP (non-refundable) that will be dedicated to fund the lunch menu.

  1. Deadlines:

Application deadline: Applications are due by 15th March.

Participants shortlist: Successful applicants will be communicated by 20th March.

Participants acceptance and commitment fee: Those who are finally selected for the trek will be asked to accept or decline and make the payment by 22nd March.

Please email the trek leaders (Iñaki Aranzabal – iaranzabal.mba2020@london.edu ; Tomoya Nishida - tnishida.mba2019@london.edu; Yohei Takayama - ytakayama.mba2019@london.edu) if you have any other questions.

Best wishes
