DISCLAIMER
Participants must be able to hike paths of moderate difficulty, up to 3,000 ft / 900 m of elevation gain over 8 miles and 6-7 hours.
Tickets are transferable to other members of the LBS community. However, no refunds will be offered once tickets are purchased. This expedition has inherent risks, and travel insurance is recommended.
The Lake District Trek:
The Lake District is England's largest national park, home to over 50 bodies of water and the three highest peaks in England. This expedition will take you to some of the national park's most famous lakes and trekking routes.
We will stay in Keswick, a market town nestled in the heart of the national park, and perform 2 day-hikes. Individuals will be given the option to participate in optional lake activities as well.
Trip Cost:
The expedition will cost £180 per person.
Participants should factor in additional costs for trains, arrival transport, travel insurance, personal gear, optional excursions, and additional meals. The ticket price includes accommodations, 5/6 meals, transport (to day hikes and to the train station on the last day), and professional guiding services.
Who Can Apply:
This expedition is open to all students or partners who attended the info session and committed to maintaining a high fitness level and a positive, can-do attitude.
The Ticket Includes:
Guide: Experienced local guide for Helvellyn summit.
Transport:
- Round-trip coach to/from Helvellyn hike
- Coach from Walla Crag hike to Windermere (last day)
Meals:
- 2x Continental breakfast (cereal, toast, fruit, coffee, tea)
- 2x Packed lunch (sandwich, crisps, water, fruit, cake)
- 1x Group dinner at hostel
The Ticket Does Not Include:
Trains: Windermere round-trip (~£35-£67 with railcard, book early)
Arrival Transport: Windermere to Keswick (Depending on interest, we can provide this at an additional cost via optional sign-up).
Dinner (Night 2): Explore town restaurants or cook at the hostel
Trip Timeline:
The expedition will take place from May 16th to May 18th. A rough itinerary is as follows:
Day 1 (May 16th) – Travel to Keswick; Water activities (Optional); Group Dinner; Stay at hostel
Day 2 (May 17th) – Helvellyn hike; Stay at hostel
Day 3 (May 18th) – Walla Crag hike; transport to train station
