Subject: Stock Pitch Competition -- Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing of the Richard Ivey School of Business
The Investment Management Club would like to inform you about the Stock Picking Competition hosted by the Ben Graham Centre of Value Investing at the Ivey Business School, Ontario, Canada. We are looking forward to put together a team to represent LBS.
The MBA Stock Picking Competition is global in nature and will include top MBA programs from Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. The competition will focus on the value investing approach to stock analysis and will follow the principles of value investing as taught by Benjamin Graham.
Participants will be competing for $17,500 in cash prizes, as well as admission to the Ben Graham for Value Investing Conference and the Fairfax Financial Annual General Meeting, including a meet and greet with Prem Watsa, CEO of Fairfax, and his team.
Competition Details
Participants: 30 top global MBA programs. 3 groups will be invited to present their final analysis to a panel of top global value investors in Toronto, Canada
Stocks: A list of stocks will be provided to participating schools in the first week of January. Teams will prepare a maximum 10 page research report (plus necessary exhibits) for submission to the competition managers no later than the second week of January. Selected finalists will be asked to prepare a second analysis to be presented in Toronto, Canada, during the fourth week of March.
