    We are delighted to host TOMS Shoes Director of Givings Jessica Shortall. who will come to LBS to speak about the mission of TOMS Shoes and to celebrate ‘One Day Without Shoes.’ TOMS Shoes, a company founded in 2006 has pioneered the One for One movement. With every pair of shoes a customer purchases, TOMS gives a pair of new shoes to a child in need: One for One.

    Before joining TOMS in 2009, Jessica's career has spanned the spectrum of social entrepreneurship, from co-founding and franchising a non-profit organization in the U.S. (www.campuskitchens.org) to providing business consulting to social enterprises and NGOs worldwide. Her work has taken her to locations as diverse as Romania, Ethiopia, Nepal, the US, the UK, and Thailand. Jessica received her MBA with honors from Oxford’s Saïd Business School, as one of five Skoll Scholars in Social Entrepreneurship. In 2000-2001, Jessica served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Uzbekistan.

    The day of the event, 5 April is TOMS global celebration ‘One Day Without Shoes’ when TOMS Shoes ask people to take their shoes off and do what they usually do in order to realise how we take shoes for granted. We encourage you to attend the event shoeless! The presentation will be followed by a reception in the S1 lounge.
