Thank you for becoming a member of the People Strategy Society.
We have been active as an unofficial WhatsApp group since last August and recently got approved as a Society by the Student Association! (Society is a one-year probation status to become a club)

We are very excited about upcoming opportunities and will stay active and connected remotely!

Our objectives

Engage students in the area of People Strategy to support their success as business leaders across industries
Develop students’ careers in the area related to People Strategy/Human Resources, including Employee Engagement, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and Coaching by:
- Supporting students to develop the necessary skills and networks
- Promoting the value of business schools learnings to the wider HR community

*People strategy is to leverage people and organisations to execute business successfully

Upcoming Event: LBS Alumni in People Professions

Our first event as a society, LBS Alumni in People Professions, is held at 11:30-12:30 on the 11th of May.
It is a panel discussion with three LBS alumni who have different experiences in HR careers
and will be a great learning opportunity for both People career seekers and general business leaders.

This free online course is a great introduction to HR. It is provided by above-mentioned CIPD, covering fundamental HR concepts such as People Strategy, Engagement, Performance Management and Recruiting.

Coursera: Human Resource Management: HR for People Managers Specialization

This is a Coursera specialisation offered by the University of Minnesota, a lot more in-depth than the above CIPD course, comprehensively covering HR concepts such as recruiting, performance management and compensation. It takes around 50-60 hours and costs £37, recommend for those recruiting in HR without prior HR experience.
