Building on the MBA class themes, the Future of Capitalism and Shaping a Sustainable Future, we thought the timing was ripe to bring you an additional London Talk.
Please RSVP to mbareception@london.edu by Monday 11 November to see one of the most sought after speakers on the future of investing. All classes welcome, including externals. Space is limited and tickets will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.
Douglas Clayton, the CEO of Leopard Capital and the father of frontier investing in Southeast Asia will host a London Talk describing the future of investing and explore links with sustainability. Featured regularly on Bloomberg, CNBC, and Reuters, Clayton has led a new wave of investing in Asia.
During the financial crisis, Clayton and Leopard Capital defied all odds (and the voice of experts), ultimately raising money from over 100 investors to launch the first private equity fund in Cambodia. Clayton leveraged his financial background with vision, creativity and an unrelenting persistence to establish a successful track record pioneering frontier investing. His work has not only achieved impressive financial returns, but has also created substantial social impact in the countries where Leopard Capital operates.
As a recognized industry expert, Clayton appears frequently on financial industry television programs, including Bloomberg, CNBC, and Reuters. His comments on frontier markets are frequently quoted in the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and numerous other print and electronic publications.
In 2012 Leopard Capital launched the first private equity fund in Haiti with the support of The World Bank's International Finance Corp, The Inter-American Development Bank's Multilateral Investment Fund, and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO). Leopard Capital will shortly be launching a regional successor fund in Southeast Asia following impressive returns on the first fund.
